Include all by Animal Type

Grigio

Grigio is a very entertaining little guy. He is adjusting nicely to his crazy foster's home. He says good morning by turning over and giving you his belly. Usually it's not a trick, he really does want belly rubs. His favorite pass time is watching out windows and he is VERY food motivated! He loves attention and allows brief hugs, but wants to be close not smothered. He can be picked up but not for long periods of time. This guy has things to do and places to go! He can be very vocal so I wouldn't call him quiet, however he is not loudly vocal, just has a tendency to talk to himself. If he doesn't like something he grumbles! He has been with other dogs and cats but can be a bit of a bully at times. Usually he prefers to entertain himself and enjoys his own company and that of the humans. His favorite toy is a catnip stuffed pickle. He is a good boy with a bit of a catitude here and there - so although he may be fine with children - we recommend they are older. If you think he may fit your home and family - please apply below. All cats are neutered/spayed, FIV/FELV tested, up to date on vaccines and microchipped prior to adoption.

Cagney and Lacey

Say hello to Cagney and Lacey! Located in NJ. 4 month old bonded sisters. These girls are absolutely stunning and compliment each other well. They were brought in from a colony before it got too cold and are adjusting to indoor life. Lacey (tabby) is very agreeable and Cagney (torti) is well, a torti . They would love to find a home together and continue to learn, grow and explore. All cats are neutered/ spayed, up to date on vaccines, FIV/FELV tested and microchipped prior to adoption.

Aldine and Misty

Misty and Aldine are extremely bonded. These girls must be adopted together. They have been through quite a bit in their short lives and need to know the other is near. They are approx. 2-3 years old but not siblings. They were brought into foster and stayed together. Their foster mom passed away and after a bit of chaos they were brought into foster with us. They are good with other cats and adjusting to the dogs in the home, but not yet integrated. They are always sleeping side by side. A calm quiet secure environment is key to making these girls thrive in a new forever home. Patience to let them to adjust is a must. Misty used to wait by the door to greet people as they came in on her cat stand. We want to see her confident enough to do that again! Aldine loves windows and bird watching. Misty loves to rub on your hand and get pet, Aldine is still hesitant and allows pets on her back only. Once they are adjusted to a new home they will be able to relax and be the loving girls that once again know they are there to stay.

Pewter

Pewter is a young adult and is fine with other cats and dogs... he likes to be near them but does his own thing! He was brought into rescue at 3 months old (with his brother Sabre, also available to adopt) when his mother was killed. Pewter is fully vetted and ready to adopt to the right family. While he is sweet and affectionate with his foster family, he is painfully shy with new people and situations so he needs a quiet very patient understanding person that will work with him to come around. A calmer household would be best. He was adopted once and returned because he was too shy :( If you're that person that can give him time and patience to show his true personality please apply to adopt this gorgeous boy Pewter today! All cats are neutered/spayed, FIV/FELV tested, up to date on vaccines and microchipped prior to adoption.

Sylvester

Sylvester – my handsome tux! This 3 year old guy has no idea what has happened this past year! He was being fostered and really coming around. Came out to meet the girls feeding when his foster mom was in hospital. After she suddenly passed away I went to help catch the cats in house. He was scared, but even though he did not know me, let me pick him up and put right in carrier even with all the craziness. He went to a temporary foster who did not confine him at first so he went into hiding mode. By the time we found another place for him he had reverted back to being too scared to enjoy the petting he had originally allowed. He is doing much better know, but hesitant to trust. Once he does he’s a very loving boy and the purrs are your first reward. He LOVES meeting other cats and is very curious about dogs at his foster home although not integrated yet. I truly have a soft spot for this guy. He wants to be comfortable enough to get the attention he craves but needs time to feel secure. He would be best in an adult household and a calmer environment. His new person needs the patience to let him adjust slowly and I am certain he will be a wonderful companion if given the right tools to succeed. I would be here to help guide you through the adjustment process. We want all animals and pet owners to be happy

Noche

Located in NJ Noche is just the sweetest most petite young little guy. He wants to rub on you so much he could almost push you over! He brought himself into rescue. Literally came to our door to be let in. He must have had a family at some point but wasn't microchipped, no one was looking for him, and began eating every night at the colony bowls. He is now fully vetted and ready for his next adventure, a loving family that won't ever let him go. He loves to look out windows and come to bed at night. He gets along with the resident cats and dogs. He needs a family to love him and call his own.

Juliette

Juliet aka Juliette is a beautiful special needs girl that has had a tough time in her short 2 to 3 years of life. She was brought into foster where it was discovered she was having seizures. She went for bloodwork and then the person caring for her had a medical procedure done and unexpectedly passed away. Meanwhile no one was aware that she had ordered and not yet picked up the meds! The girls caring for her decided it was kinder to put her down – but we took her in, found her prior records and started the medication. Juliette will require an adopter that can consistently administer pills in her food daily. She will be able to live a long happy and healthy life as long as she receives her meds and goes for her bloodwork as needed. The medicine is not expensive and the love she will give you in return well worth it! She’s a quiet girl and very well behaved. She’d be a pleasure as a permanent family member. She is fine with other cats, would be best in an adult household and still a bit leary of dogs but adjusting. Loves to watch her surroundings and get pet, but not a fan of being picked up. If you have it in your heart to give this girl a good comfortable stress free life please apply to make her part of your family. She’s been through enough and deserves to have a stable loving home to call her own!

Taz and Nutmeg

Taz and Nutmeg are very bonded brothers. They are kittens stillabout 7 months old in November. They both love attention and to be pet, they allow you to pick them up and will cuddle. They also like to play! Together or with you. These boys are large for their age so we expect they will grow into big boys! They need to stay together. Is your family ready for 2 wonderful additions?? All cats are neutered/spayed, FIV/FELV tested, up to date on vaccines and microchipped prior to adoption.

Grump

Grump came to us. This boy is all male cat with all the personality you'd expect. He was eating in a colony and one day decided to approach for treats out of feeders hand. He gained his name because once inside he let it be known when he did not like something. He'd grumble! Since he has been with us he has completely adjusted to the good things in life and being indoors. Grump LOVES attention and will chill in your lap, purring away with eyes closed. He is extremely affectionate yet also can be very curious and independent. Grump does have a catitude. He plays a bit rough with other cats at times and has not been integrated with dogs since when introduced he goes towards them to give them a good smack just because... Possibly in time they will be friends. Because he is a bit dominant, if children in home must be older children that understand boundaries. Grumps is everything wrapped up in one. Playful, affectionate, independent, very loving and loyal with a strong personality. He has been fully vetted, FIV/FELV negative, neutered and microchipped.

Mr Grey

Mr Grey has been visiting a colony for quite a while. One day he came right up to one of the feeders and rolled over for pets. (Full disclosure he was nicknamed Mr Grey Balls since we had no luck grabbing him for TNR) While petting him we noticed he seemed to have an issue with his jaw. So off he went to visit our vet for a full exam as well as testing and neuter. Good news was he lost a few teeth and chipped another, an older gent outside not out of norm, but although he tends to scoop food instead of picking up he has adjusted and eats just fine. In fact he LOVES to eat! Grey is curious and seems to like the other cats in foster home and gets a bit upset and confused if they aren't nice to him. He would be fine as an only pet or with other friendly cats. He is very gentle and may be good with older children. At this point he is very afraid of dogs. Grey is SUPER affectionate and friendly. Loves attention and is ready for his new family where he'll be loved and pampered.

Haley and Soka

Soka and Haley are VERY bonded. These ladies must go to a home together. These poor girls loved their owner, their life, their home. Until one day it turned completely upside down. Their owner, who had tons of foster cats in and out of the house, passed away and these crazy people came in and caught them all and they all went in different directions… Soka and Haley knew they were always there to stay, comfortable and loved. Until they weren’t. They were EXTREMELY fortunate in having a foster step up that would give them time, patience and love to adjust. They used to sleep in bed. They used to know their routine. They are having a tough time adjusting but are making progress. They are still a work in progress and if adopted at this time would need a very understanding adopter with cat experience, a calm and quiet household with adults only, and a room to call their own until they are more comfortable and confident. Once cats like this come around it is an amazing transformation and like nothing you’ve ever experienced. It WON’T happen overnight. Cat savvy adopters only please – but if this sounds like something you could take on to give these girls security and a home for life – you would make a huge difference – please contact Jane Kolyer for more info or fill out an adoption application.

Sabre

Sabre is a bit difficult to catch a good picture since when you call his name or he sees you looking at him he comes to you! He came to the rescue in August of 2022 at about 3 months old, after his mother died, has never been picked by an adopter and has yet to find someone to love! Sabre is a shy boy at first but very sweet and needs a home where he is allowed to take it slow and get adjusted. Sabre is fine with other cats and calm dogs. Loud activity he will travel into another room. He loves to be pet but prefers not to be picked up. His favorite pastime besides bird watching is checking out what you made for YOUR dinner. Once he walks up to you and gazes in your eyes you'll be his for life!

Leia

Leia is a young adult ~ 5 years old. This gorgeous female torti is what torti's are all about! A little sweetness mixed with a little attitude and you have to EARN her trust. Tortis don't just give it away to anyone. She has been moved around a bit lately so will need time to know that she is with you to stay. Patience, love, understanding and time to adjust are all key, but once she is yours she will be yours forever. Good with other cats and dogs and best in a low traffic, calmer household with adults only. All cats are neutered/spayed, FIV/FELV tested, up to date on vaccines and microchipped prior to adoption.

Haze

Haze is another new addition! He is about a year old and super friendly. Just came in Monday night, extremely dirty and had fleas. He eats a ton at the colony and has been there all times of night and day. Happily he is now vetted, inside, safe and getting rid of the outside filth! He no longer has to worry about the other cats attacking him and sharing food with raccoons and opposums. He's so happy I couldn't get him out of food bowl for great picture!

Alfredo

Alfredo is a curious young adult boy who likes his windows and soft beds. He is used to be around multiple cats and comfortable with resident dog in foster home. He has been through a rough patch in his life and will need a little time to adjust but adapts rather quickly and is a very good boy that would be a pleasure to have in your home. He would possibly be best in a home with other pets to interact with since he is a bit of a follower. He watched what the resident cats did and wanted to be a part of what they were doing. He loves attention and to be pet, by your side but not in your lap. He's not a huge fan of being picked up so if children are older that would be preferable. All cats are neutered/spayed, FIV/FELV tested, up to date on vaccines and microchipped prior to adoption.
